The landscape surrounding Fountain Paint Pots, in Wyoming is very surreal. There are majestic lodge pole pines soaring to the sky claiming their continuity in the ever changing forest. In the foreground, the cool bright cobalt blue of the geyser pool contrasts with the bubbling ribbons of hot orange lava that flow from underground. Skeletons of dead trees and bushes appear randomly where the flow has claimed their land and steam lingers above the ground even when you cannot see the underlying cause. I was fascinated with the colors, shapes and complexity of emotions that overwhelm you when you are witness to such a beautiful place.
If vacations are supposed to give your body a reprieve from the everyday and restore your sense of being then Wyoming is the place to go!

Artists working together simultaneously is highly unconventional, or outre. That was how the name Outre Art came to be. Two artists with different styles and subject matter interests collaborated in pastel to create a new style. We wanted viewers to look at subject matter differently and encourage them to look at everyday objects with a new eye. We are no longer working together, but I continue to pursue my art and keep our collaborative images available for sale. Creating landscapes that express my emotional attachment to a place is just part of who I am. That creativity spills over into the rest of my work and the unique one of a kind jewelry is the result.
