Description
This painting of our Shetland Sheepdog Woody was done about a month after older dog Shadow passed away at age 11. I wanted to convey the loneliness and sadness that Woody, and our family, was going through. Woody didn't understand where Shadow had gone and kept looking for him whenever we came home. One day, I looked out the window and it was obvious, he was waiting for Shadow.

This is a beauti-full and power-full piece. Before I even looked at your description, I felt a huge sense of "loss" and mournfull-ness from the picture which brought tears to my eyes. Upon reading, of course, I understood why. Animals do grieve, too, certainly....and sometimes it is even more difficult for them when they can still feel the energy of the Being that has transitioned, but can't find them. Very well done. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks Natalie! Interesting... almost an abstract. My current projects: a painting to enter in "Sticks and Stones" in Bethlehem, Co-chair of BCDTC Obedience Trial, Tracking Trial for the BCDTC, Parker is entered in 2 Trials (May 16th and 23rd) in Rally advanced, Training Scout in agility and tracking (plus a little obedience when I find time). How did I ever find time to work! -Lynn
